Marine Engine

Mamod Meteor made by Malins of Birmingham. Only 1500 of these lovely steam boats were made and they were not commercially successful. The reason was , it was thought , was that they were too expensive for the market. An electric version was made , named the Conqueror , and this too was not successful commercially. The Meteor performs extremely well , and it is a pleasure to own. I could gaze at this lovely boat all day. It uses a methylated  spirit burner with three wicks inserted through the forward hatch. The engine is a single cylinder engine ,as used in the ME1 marine engine.
