Scalex Lighning. Lovely 12 inch speedboat with submersible, detachable torpedo motor. Quite rare for a Scalex boat. A good seaworthy boat , as the hull can totally sealed because no workings are required in the hull , unlike more conventional toy boats.

Scalex Queen Elizabeth 2 with submersible torpedo motor . 18 inches in length. Missing foremast and all decals. Quite a rare boat. Manufactured in Hong Kong , but branded by an English company. It was at the time increasingly common for UK companies to outsource manufacturing to countries that had cheaper manufacturing costs then UK companies.

Three Funnel Liner in a plain Scalex box.

Three Funnel Liner in a box that has a more modern , but a less romantic look about it , than the other 'Three Funnel Liner' I have displayed.

11 inch cruiser. Has all the accessories separate. A lovely complete model. This box can house a number of different models. Also , it is supplied with stickers on a sheet , rather than applied to the model. I would think this was a cost saving measure. This model also illustrates the connection between Tri-ang , Scalex and Penguin. The box has 'Tri-ang' and 'Scalex' markings , and the key is marked 'Pengiun'

Scalex Firefly Speedboat 12 inches in length. Quite rare for a Scalex boat. You have to be careful with the on/off switch , as the plastic deck can easily be cracked. This boat was previously sold under the Triang brand.

Scalex Rambler 12 inch river cruiser. One of the larger , if not the largest , of the Scalex motorised boats. 2 'C' size batteries are house under the deck cover.
